I chose to do question 2, I do believe that social context does influence when watching a movie, when watching a movie I tend to adopt certain things depending on who I am with, what movie it may be , or even where the location is, but there is one exception where I would no engage in that act and that is when people TALK during the movies, I really hate when people talk during the movies if I am in a public movie theater I tend to usually be quite because I really dislike when people talk in the movie Fr fr. I feel as if its rude and dirspectfull when people pay their money to be there and what if they accidently misses a part because you wanted to talk, and my boyfriend has a bad habbit of doing that but he has cam down now because he understands that really works my nerves It is really important to me when I go out, to act right and do things like your supposed to because anyone could be watching in public.
if I am a home watching a movie , everything is going to be relaxed and chill, this is some place where if I am with someone or even a group of people we can talk during the movie or laugh hard or talk about the people in the movie, I guess it just depends where I am, but even during the talking and laughing during movies, I dislike ALOT of it because then it gets annoying and I get sidetrack easily and if I am laughing way to much and miss an important part then I will not want to watch the rest of the movie because everything is ruined for me.
if I am in class I would pay attention more because its a structural classroom, and if I look around everyone is going to be paying attention is not going to be much talking as much everything is going to be more serious, but I can sit and watch a movie in class for long Idk why but I would have to go to the restroom at least twice.

I am writing about my interest topic which is about how media effects young girls when it come to dealing with their self asteem and how they view them selves, I think this is an import topic to talk about because it helps us realize the effect that social media has on others and how BIG of an impact it does whether good or bad, I think it is really sad that young girl and even girls my age sometimes and even all the time compare themselves to others based on images and what the would and the internet wants them to look like, some girls change who they completely are and how they think and go about things just to fit in, "fitting in is also a big problem everyone wants to feel wanted by someone or some things to make them feel better about them selves when all honesty when they show girls how they should look and how they should dress and what is cute and what is not the crazy thing is that half of the things the internet wants them to do can not be done.
and even though young girls and women have their own minds I do blame the people who put the information out their and excpect people to listen to them and then judge people. everyone is beautiful and perfect in their own way.

new vs. old
technology has changed and will forever continue to change , it has the power to create its on generations, and modern way of going through life and thinking, when I was younger my space and tumbler was popping, my mom and dad never would let me get on the internet and use was everybody else was doing but now I have a better understanding why, but even though I wasn't allowed to get on the internet I still used to sneak and get on lol, when thinking back on something "old" on anything it is always weird because the way that you would remember thinking about is totally diffirent but sometimes I do wonder if technology didn't change would people still be ok with the way everything is, I feel as though technology changes because people "get bored" and wants something new and exciting. when my space was created everybody got to chose their back ground, which was what was the most popular thing that was on their because you could also put music along with it. you still could look up your friends and have your own profile picture, and send messeges.
today technology is everywhere, and it keeps continuing to grow and grow. the creators are making everything more efficient and easy to do any and Everything, the way we communicate has chagd as well, back in the days we could be on the internet but the internet was not out" life" we could be on for a couple of hours but when our friends called our cell phones and or our house phone we could easily get off the computer and engage with our peers, now t is weird to engage with each other because we are so used to communicating through online activities, sometimes its cool when you don think about the long term effects and damage we have done to our selves and also how we have allowed to effect us in this way, technology is going to continue to grow and will continue to have good and bad effects for different people but we have to chose what we will allow to effect us.

the longest 20 min of my life
in all honesty I found my self dreading this assignment because I just didn't want to cut my phone off, I knew nothing was seriously going to happen but I made myself think of all the terrible things things that could happen while my phone was off but in reality everything was going to be fine, I thought that if I was to cut my phone off I might miss and important phone call or text, I thought about my boyfriend missing me lol just weird stough , just basically in a panic. but when I actually cut my phone off it was the total opposite It was kind of a stress reliever, like one less thing I had to worry about, but when I was not thinking about who was going to call me, getting upset about someone not texting back in time, being distracted from my school work, answering face time, on snap chat.. and it taks 20 min or 30 min depending on how many people you follow. instead I was wondering what all I had to finish for my classes, how I was going to finish, when I wanted to finish, if I could even finish lol.. I am a virgo and we are very critical thinkers, and we can think about things all day, it like our minds never stop.. so even though it was a stress reliever only to a certain extent because I still had a lot of other things my mind wanted to organize and worry about.. I can say that I felt as if my time was being spent effectively and efficiently than it would be in my everyday routine. I also thought about how I needed to take time out of my day to spend more time with god In stead of being OHSO consumed about things that does not concern me and focus of my self and things that are important and things that matter, this assignment was an eye opener and I feel like it came at the right time in my life.

the celluloid closet
the celluloid closet , was about gay women and men not being able to be themselves in movies in Hollywood. there always had to be some type censorship, but people sometimes could tell if they were or other times were not. overall this was not and "Ok" thing by far, they tend to have made fun of homosexual women and men, as if they were something to joke about. I found this very disturbing and hurtful, so now I do have a better understanding of when they stated that people would watch shows hoping and praying just to see one homosexual guy or women being played in movies and t.v shows. in todays soiecty we have came a lonnnnnngg way in shows such as modern family, greys anatomy ECT. if though I failed to see any African American homosexual people portrayed in the documentary, I wonder if this wasn't big in the African American community yet, or was not as many people to even portray.. well now that I am thinking about it, not a lot of blacks were on television yet alone representing a group of people other than the sterotypes that were out for them, is what I am thinking. I also wondered how they didn't consider the women to be taken serious on these movies when they were gay, it was more ok to be a women and be gay than be a man and be gay, they just laughed it off when they lady in the documentary dressed up as an guy and was supposly were "bisexual". but here nor there. I am glad that homosexual women and men can be on television as themselves and not be made fun of,

stereortypes
In many films that African American men and women have played in, personally most of them have stereotypical roles. beyond the fact that this is degrading to my race and culture, its also very hurtful to see and unfair in many ways. the fact that these stereotypes are supposed to represent every black person , and that's the unfair part for me because as I have grown up, I have notice that these stereotypes effect how others treat and view you. therefore myself and others tend to feel as though we have to "prove our self" just to make an statement that says *hey I am not that stereotyped black women/men* I actually do know how to speak correct English, I am educated, I am not loud, I do act civilized in public, I do deserve to work ECT.
but in a movie I have watched particulary is the movie called "Friday" Creg the main character is a thug, not doing anything with his life, his dad chases dogs for a living, his mom cleans houses, and his best friend sells and does drugs. In the film that African American women have played in, the women plays the roles of, domestic house workers and slaves , also black women are routinely portrayed as sassy, neck rolling individuals with attitudes in television and films, and this is where the saying " the mad black women" comes from. in today's entertainment the popularity of these so called reality shows severs to fuel these stereotypes, especially when they are full of drama. men stereotypes are not just played on television and in films but they have been viewed that way beyond that, and are getting killed over it. most roles they have played in as drug dealers, thugs, pimps, murderers, rapist,. they overlook how racial and economic injustice makes it more difficult for young black men to not be an target when it comes to authorities and even in future opportunities. the way they portray African American men and women on t.v , internet, movies ect is the problem , only until they would be willing to change the way they represent races in the way they do and not give people stereotypes things would be different.
it clear that things have been this way, and most likely will not change anytime soon, but that does not make up any excuses for the negative representation not only African American but any other culture that has been stereotypes in a negative way on television and films.
